Your prescription is only part of the picture. Your lenses also need to be positioned correctly within the frame, in relation to your eyes. ZEISS VISUFIT is a digital measurement system that uses nine cameras to capture a 180-degree view in one shot. Its 3D data helps our dispensing team take the measurements needed for accurate spectacle lens fitting.
What do we measure?
Pupillary distance describes the spacing of your pupils. Fitting heights record where your pupils sit vertically within your chosen frame. Other fitting parameters describe the relationship between your face, frame and lenses. Together, these measurements help establish where the lenses should sit in front of your eyes.
Why does precision matter?
A lens is designed to work in a particular position relative to your eye. Accurate fitting measurements help align that design with the way you wear your glasses. This is especially important for varifocals, where distance, intermediate and reading zones need to be positioned appropriately within the frame.
Technology with a personal touch
At i2i, we combine digital VISUFIT measurements with individual advice from our dispensing team. We consider your prescription, how your frame fits and the tasks you use your glasses for. Technology supports that judgement; it does not replace careful frame adjustment, lens selection or a final fitting check.
What happens during your fitting?
Once you have chosen your frame, our team checks its fit and takes your VISUFIT measurements with the frame in place. We use those measurements when dispensing your lenses and check the completed glasses on you. A different frame or a change in its fit can change the measurements, which is why the process is personalised to each pair.
VISUFIT is a dispensing measurement system, not an eye-health scan or a substitute for an eye examination. Accurate dispensing depends on the prescription, chosen lenses, frame adjustment and professional fitting as well as the measurements themselves. No system guarantees perfect vision for every wearer.
