Akoni

Akoni was founded in Switzerland in 2020, bringing together an international team with experience in luxury eyewear. Its identity rests on a deliberate partnership between Swiss precision and Japanese artistry.

Manufacturing takes place in Japan, where specialist craftspeople translate the designs into finished frames. Titanium and Japanese acetate are central materials, chosen for their different structural and visual possibilities. Metal components introduce fine lines and mechanical detail, while acetate provides depth, colour and sculptural volume. The collections include both optical glasses and sunglasses, with recognisable shapes reworked through proportion and material contrasts.

Akoni draws inspiration from disciplines beyond eyewear, including architecture, watchmaking and traditional Japanese crafts. The brand references joinery, kiriko glass cutting, blade making and calligraphy within its wider creative vocabulary. These influences are expressed through surface treatments, carefully considered junctions and small construction details rather than literal decoration. Its approach favours close inspection over conspicuous external branding.

Rounded lenses, angular fronts and substantial acetate rims sit alongside more restrained metal structures.
