A Parisian point of view.
CELINE
Eyewear at i2i Optometrists, Glasgow
CELINE was founded in Paris in 1945 by Céline Vipiana. The house developed an identity associated with practical elegance, accessories and a Parisian wardrobe.
The collection combines optical frames and sunglasses, moving between substantial acetate and lighter metal constructions. Bold fronts, oval lenses, angular corners and aviator references recur in different interpretations. Some designs make their statement through volume, while others depend on a narrow profile or a balanced bridge. Black and Havana remain familiar visual foundations, alongside additional colours and metal finishes across individual styles.
One of the house's most recognisable details is the Triomphe emblem. Céline Vipiana took inspiration from the chains surrounding the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, developing a motif that became part of the brand's archive. In eyewear, this signature appears on temples and connects contemporary frames with an established decorative vocabulary. A bold acetate Triomphe style appeared in the women's spring and summer 2021 runway presentation in Monaco.
CELINE eyewear is developed with Thélios, the LVMH group's specialist eyewear company.
