Architecture for the face.

lool is an eyewear label and multidisciplinary design studio associated with Barcelona. Founded in 2016 by designer Aris Rubio and entrepreneur Alex Carrasco, it brings graphic and product-design thinking to optical function. The name and visual identity play on a simplified drawing of glasses. The studio describes its work as built in Barcelona, drawing inspiration from the city’s industrial design, architecture and contemporary creative culture.
Early collections established a distinctive lightweight metal aesthetic. Thin sheets of stainless steel, geometric outlines and open areas make the construction part of the visual effect. The result can feel architectural and lightly futuristic, while the collection also includes more familiar shapes. Colour and surface treatments add character without obscuring the clean lines that remain central to the design language.
A screwless hinge approach is among the label’s notable design features, developed as part of its original brief. It reduces reliance on conventional small fasteners and supports a streamlined construction, though details vary by collection. The brand’s material choices have also expanded: alongside steel designs, some lines use beta-titanium or bio-based materials.
