Sculptural and considered.
Victoria Beckham
Eyewear at i2i Optometrists, Glasgow
Victoria Beckham’s fashion label translates a considered wardrobe into accessories with a similarly controlled aesthetic. Eyewear forms part of that design language, balancing recognisable classic shapes with distinctive proportions. The emphasis is less on decorative excess than on how a frame sits within an look, from tailored clothing to a simpler combination of everyday pieces and understated accessories.
The optical collection was already being discussed in 2013, when Beckham explained that difficulty finding glasses to suit her had encouraged her to develop her own. That early range was created with Cutler and Gross and made in Italy. It is an important part of the eyewear story, but historical production details should not be treated as specifications for every subsequent collection.
Today, the official fashion website describes eyewear through sculptural acetate frames, gradient lenses and modern interpretations of classic silhouettes.
Its appeal lies in the relationship between a substantial shape and restrained detailing: a frame designed to register clearly without requiring elaborate ornament, bright colour or conspicuous repeated branding in the collection.
